This past weekend, the SB drama team presented “The Light” which asked the question “What would it be like if Jesus was born today?” Christ was born in a boarded up center down town, when a mother and her impoverished children stop by a modern-day diner to pick up a warm meal for Mary and Joseph. While there, a waitress pays for the “bums” meal and believes that the savior she’s been waiting for her whole life has finally arrived. The drama ends with a powerfully convicting message centered around Christ being the light and it is our responsibility to take that light into the world.

I think my favorite part was when the band was doing the Christmas songs. There is a deep sense of community when you hear the auditorium filled with one voice proclaiming their adoration of Christ.
I liked the question “why do we need a savior, what is he hear to save us from?” How many people around us that are not followers of Christ realize that they are in need of salvation?
My 4-year old son said the most amazing thing. When the play was over, he said ” I want to see baby Jesus too” I hope he always wants to see Jesus. He is just starting to understand that he has sinned. His Daddy told him recently he was a good boy, and he cried because he knew he was naughty. They talked to Jesus together. Thank you for helping us teach him who Jesus is.
Kristy – From the mouth of babes! My kids have taught me so much about God and have opened my eyes up to a whole new side of what it means when God is called “Father.”
