My favorite name for God is "Abba." Abba is the Aramaic form of the familiar term for father (i.e., Dad or Daddy). This term was never used for God before Jesus taught his followers to call upon God using this name. In Judaism, it was taboo to use such a familiar term with respect to the transcendent God, but Jesus taught us about the nearness of God -- the depth and intimacy of the relationship he desires to have with us.

Kristy - From the mouth of babes! My kids have taught me so much about God and have opened my eyes up to a whole new side of what it means when God is called "Father."

Michelle,

I think that phrase is going to stick with me as well. All to often I come before God not knowing what to really say.

My 4-year old son said the most amazing thing. When the play was over, he said " I want to see baby Jesus too" I hope he always wants to see Jesus. He is just starting to understand that he has sinned. His Daddy told him recently he was a good boy, and he cried because he knew he was naughty. They talked to Jesus together. Thank you for helping us teach him who Jesus is.

I have a devotional by Max Lucado And One of the recent ones that I read he says " Better to pray awkwardly than not at all." Which really stood out to me . I try not to worry about form as long as I remember to pray . Thanks for the message ! It hit me right upside the head.
The whole worship was wonderful this week and I found myself with hands lifted which I fight to not do sometimes. But really why not do it in praise to God. Thanks

I liked the question "why do we need a savior, what is he hear to save us from?" How many people around us that are not followers of Christ realize that they are in need of salvation?

I think my favorite part was when the band was doing the Christmas songs. There is a deep sense of community when you hear the auditorium filled with one voice proclaiming their adoration of Christ.

Do not worry Michelle. I truly value our worship as well and hope that we can enhance it as we grow. Part of the process in talking with North side is that they would need to come and be a part of one of our worship services so they can see how we celebrate on Sundays. Thanks for your imput and keep it coming.
